A massive thank you to Briony who is going to participate in the 5km Santa Run taking place on 5th December at Greenwich Park - London to raise funds for the kanga project. 12 November 2010 -By The Citizen Reporters -Ms Anne Makinda, 61, yesterday became the first woman Speaker of the National Assembly at the start of what promised to be an eventful five-year tenure of the Tenth Parliament.The Clerk to the National Assembly, Dr Thomas Kashililah, declared the CCM Njombe South MP the new Speaker by after she polled 265 votes to defeat the opposition candidate, Mr Mabere Marando, who received 53 votes. The girls made it to the top of Kilimanjaro and they also reached their target. We are so thankful to them and all their supporters. Their Just Giving page will be up for a while longer, so do go and check out their pictures. We were also delighted to be able to show them around Ilongero and the chicken training centre where the new incubator was already in place, albeit not quite working as two more solar panels are required. Two fantastic girls are climbing Kilimanjaro

Ismat Abidi and Razan Zayani will be climbing Kilimanjaro in July 2010. They aim to raise £5000 with your support. Kilimanjaro is no mean feast and their effort will make a huge difference to our women's attempt at rearing chickens in a commercial manner.
